Football star to miss stag night

MIND you, Palmer might have had to miss the final for a very different reason if a planned stag do had gone ahead for Town skipper Chris Timons.
Timons (30) is getting married in June and had planned a trip to Magaluf with his mates in celebration. All the Town squad were invited but the planned date of their return is Sunday May 22 – the same day as the FA Trophy final!
Now Timons and the players have agreed to cancel it, even though it has already been paid for, if The Yellows get through tomorrow.
"It was no contest," said assistant player/manager Roy Hunter. "We might have to pay out again but it will be worth it."
Perhaps they will be taking the Trophy with them!

Stag Party damage, businessman ordered to pay

A Dublin businessman who caused a disturbance in a Galway city hotel was advised by Judge Mary Fahy to write a letter of apology to the hotel's staff and advise them of what happened to him in court.
David Kavanagh (31), from Tallaght, in Dublin, pleaded guilty at Galway District Court to being drunk and a danger to himself and others at the Travelodge Hotel, Galway, in the early hours of the morning.
Inspector Noel Kelly said Garda Eric O'Donnell received a call from the manager at the hotel who had difficulty getting Kavanagh to leave.
Garda O'Donnell directed the accused to leave but Kavanagh refused to do so and was arrested.
Defence solicitor Cormac McCarthy said his client, who had recently set up his own company in Dublin, had been in Galway for a stag party and had too much to drink.
He was now very embarrassed and wished to apologise profusely for his behaviour on the night.
Judge Fahy advised Kavanagh to write a letter of apology to staff at the hotel and inform them of what happened in court before imposing a fine of EUR 200 for failing to leave the area when directed to do so by Garda O'Donnell, and a further EUR 100 for being drunk on the occasion."

Stag do organiser says Bristol is tops for Stags

Stag do organiser, Eclipse Leisure has given Bristol top prize for best value for money stag and hen city of the year.

Eclipse Leisure, is one of the stag and hen industries leading organisers and has compiled the best towns in the UK for a stag or hen weekend. The results are not based just on popularity but on feedback from groups, value for money, cities that try hard to accommodate single sex groups and facilities offered.

Bristol came first because of its "Friendly bars and clubs, great hotels and a good range of activities to keep everyone occupied during the day" says Alasdair Adam, Eclipse Leisure MD. "Bristol has been voted number one by Eclipse because the city has put a lot of effort into its regeneration and is continuing to welcome single sex groups."

Newcastle came second only because many hotels have started increasing the prices, but this is put down to the fact that demand is enormous.

Says Eclipse "A wealth of night time and day time activities keeps the revellers occupied. The city centre is starting to look space age and dare we say it Newcastle is becoming cosmopolitan."

Brighton came a good third and contrary to some mis informed reports Brighton is not a big "boxing ring". Again according to Eclipse Brighton came third largely because of 'limited hotel availability'.

Says Alisdair, "The club scene is legendary and there is anything for just about anyone. There is a host of activities available and all within a reasonable distance of the city. Anything goes in Brighton, so groups in fancy dress hardly turn a head; it’s a fun unassuming city that is in dire need of a decent football stadium."

Prince C lets hair down on stag night

PRINCE Charles let his hair down with sons William and Harry for a wild, raucous, boozy, er... fondue party on his stag night.
The cheesy event was organised by Wills and Harry in a cramped restaurant called Rustico at Swiss ski resort Klosters on Friday.
The Sunday Mirror was the only newspaper to witness the relaxed celebration, where the main course - amusingly called 'Chas Fondue' on the menu - cost just £14 a head.
William's girlfriend Kate Middleton, 22, was among a dozen of Charles' friends invited to the surprise bash.
